28 Oct A Match Made in Culinary Heaven: Daniel Boulud To Open Café Boulud in the New Four Seasons Hotel Toronto
It’s official! Superstar chef and international restaurateur, Daniel Boulud, will open Café Boulud at the new flagship Four Seasons Hotel Toronto in 2012.
We had the privilege of being invited to an intimate soirée with the Michelin-starred chef at the Four Seasons Private Residences Toronto Presentation Gallery on Thursday. Boulud unveiled the name and concept behind his new venture, Café Boulud, which will be modelled after his restaurant of the same name located in Manhattan’s Upper East Side. The menu will also include dishes from his Mediterranean-focused New York restaurant, called Boulud Sud.
“This is cooking that pays homage to my childhood in France, and celebrates the foods I’ve come to love after spending almost three decades in America,” says Boulud.
“I believe Four Seasons represents the ultimate benchmark of excellence in hospitality, and I could not have a finer partner or setting for creating a restaurant, especially here in Toronto,” explains Boulud. “We share a standard in our approach to taking care of our guests, in the consistent quality of our cuisine and service and in the welcome we offer.”
Boulud, a native of Lyon, France, is considered one of America’s leading culinary authorities, best known for Daniel in New York, the renowned three Michelin star Relais & Châteaux restaurant. He is the recipient of three James Beard Foundation awards, was named a Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur by the French government as well as Chef of the Year 2011 by The Culinary Institute of America.
