An unrivaled passion for the industry and diverse portfolio complements Lifetime’ strong company culture that is rooted in corporate and social responsibility. Lifeline, Lifetime’s Charitable Foundation, was founded in 2014 out of the company’s commitment to actively support and enhance the communities in which they build. The foundation has since raised more than $3M for organizations that provide necessary aid and support for some of the most vulnerable and at-risk communities in the GTA and across the country.

We've Successfully Developed over 7,000 suites in 15 Years

In May 2020, Lifetime Developments, through Lifeline, launched the See You Soon campaign, a response to the pandemic and the citywide lockdowns. A collaboration between Lifetime Principal Brian Brown, Tyrone Edwards (renowned anchor, ETALK) and Ben Johnston (award-winning graphic artist), See You Soon Toronto presented limited edition merchandise and art, with all proceeds ($350K+ to date) going back to providing assistance to those who have been impacted by COVID-19 and need it most, including the hospitality industry, essential workers, mental health organizations and more.2023 has been a milestone year for Lifetime’s charitable efforts, culminating in the 10 year anniversary of its 'Smashed' ping pong tournament. Smashed has consistently been one of the most highly-anticipated and successful charity events within the real estate industry and has currently raised $3 million, to support charities like: SickKids, the Mackenzie Health Foundation, Make A Wish, Cortellucci Children's Charity and Scalabrini International Migration Network.

Moreover, after two years in the making, the ‘Homecourt Advantage’ basketball court revitalization project was also launched. The Homecourt Advantage program is a charitable endeavor that aims to enhance Toronto’s community facilities by renovating existing outdoor basketball courts and infusing them with art. The first basketball court to be transformed is at Stanley Park and includes new court surfaces, poles, acrylic backboards, new benches, plantings and special mural called “Dreamers” by Ben Johnston. By transforming the court into a dynamic work of art, the project not only enhances the aesthetic appeal of the surrounding area but also fosters a sense of togetherness among community members.

Mel Pearl, Principal of Lifetime Developments, has more than 40 years of experience in the real estate industry. Mel began his early career working in the family business with his father, Martin Pearl, a boutique low-rise residential and commercial developer. Several years later after venturing out on his own, Mel met Sam Herzog in the early 1980s – the man who would become his future business partner and best friend. Mel and Sam decided to join forces, and Lifetime was born. Under their strategic direction, Lifetime has grown and diversified, and has become one of the City’s fastest-growing and most respected real estate firms. With a strong focus on the downtown core, Lifetime has been involved in over 25 projects. Mel credits his success to a hands-on attitude, creativity and strategic joint ventures with other prominent developers that have enabled Lifetime to retain its founding entrepreneurial spirit, while participating in some of Toronto’s most significant development projects.

As Principal of Lifetime Developments, Brian is involved in every aspect of the development process, from conception to construction. With over 15 years of real estate experience, Brian is passionate about building inspiring places to live, work and play, and he has a strong commitment to contributing in a positive and distinctive way to the City of Toronto. Brian is also the Founder and Chair of Lifeline, which provides aid and support for a range of programs and initiatives that enhance communities across the GTA.

Michael Pearl, Principal of Lifetime Developments, oversees the company’s construction management division, from planning to financing, through to closing and customer care.
