Liberty Village has a special place amongst the vast Lifetime portfolio. Lifetime Developments continues to serve as one of the most influential developers that has had a hand in shaping the community into what it is today, and what it will be in the coming years. Acquired in 2004, the Liberty Market Building underwent a multi-million dollar revitalization of over 300,000 square feet of commercial space right in the heart of Liberty Village. Local artist and creative director Ben Johnston, also a proud resident of the neighbourhood, was challenged to create a strong statement for Liberty Village that would capture its urban vibrancy, industrial history, entrepreneurial culture, and the resounding sense of pride within the community. Johnston created two murals, both reflecting his signature bold, typographic, and vintage-inspired flare.
